Catherine L. Brown | President
Catherine Brown founded Initial Call in 2002. As the firm's president, she manages all aspects of its sales consulting practice. She also acts as CIO and COO, collaborating with the management team to develop and execute corporate plans for growth.
Before starting Initial Call, Ms. Brown was with Cambridge Technology Partners for five years, holding positions in marketing, account management and recruiting. While in marketing, she was responsible for planning and managing marketing campaigns and software partner events designed to generate new business at Fortune 1000 companies. In this role, she worked with a number of electronic commerce technology vendors and also with Microsoft. As account manager for the central United States, she grew her sales territory to deliver more than $6 million in consulting services.
Ms. Brown has a B.A. from Rice University in Houston and has completed advanced courses in CustomerCentric Selling and TAS Group's Target Account Selling methodology. She has also completed coursework in the energy services industry offered through the National Energy Services Association.
Colleen McCarty | Vice President, Talent and Organization Development
Colleen McCarty joined Initial Call in 2003. In her role as vice president, talent and organization development, Colleen oversees the recruiting, IT, communications and staffing teams. In addition, she focuses on internal operations designed to improve business practices, contractor development and knowledge management.
Ms. McCarty brings breadth and depth of human resources experience to Initial Call. She has served as an instructor in the Extended Education Human Resources Certificate program of the University of California, Berkeley. Earlier in her career, she held human resources positions at Cambridge Technology Partners, Novell and The Clorox Company.
Ms. McCarty, SPHR, holds an M.A. in Human Resources and Organization Development from the University of San Francisco and a B.A., English Literature from California State University, Chico.
Barb Cullen | Vice President, Client Delivery
Barb Cullen joined Initial call in 2004 as a project manager, a role she continues to hold for several key clients. As vice president, client delivery, she drives the project management process across all engagements, mentoring other project managers and acting as the point of escalation for Initial Call clients as well as analyzing and coaching the performance of individual consultants and teams. Ms. Cullen is also a significant contributor to Initial Call's sales revenue and continues to be involved in developing business opportunities with prospective clients.
Prior to joining Initial Call, Ms. Cullen held senior sales positions at iCOMS, an e-commerce solutions provider; Datastream Systems, Inc., an asset management and integrated procurement software company; and John Snow Inc., an international health care consulting firm.
Ms. Cullen received a B.A. cum laude from Boston College and has completed graduate public health coursework at Harvard University Extension School.
Amy Keuper | Vice President, Sales
Amy Keuper joined Initial Call in March 2003, bringing extensive sales, customer service and business management experience to the table. Now the firm's senior sales executive, Ms. Keuper has a deep understanding of Initial Call's values and operations and has proven her ability to close business, customize sophisticated sales tools and mentor sales consultants. She has driven multiple complex sale projects and is an expert in Salesforce.com and lead generation best practices.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Keuper worked as an account executive for an upscale personal services guide and owned a custom stationery business.
Ms. Keuper earned a B.A. summa cum laude from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio and holds lifetime teaching certification in secondary English from the state of Texas.
